For as long as I can remember I always thought that my husband wouldn't see me in my wedding dress until the day of our wedding. I could imagine his face as he saw me for the first time. I always thought that is how it would go. Then I changed my mind. I decided to take our formal pictures before the wedding. This would reduce the amount of time spent taking picture outside the temple while everyone waited, allow more time in between the temple and luncheon, allow us to have more pictures for the reception and luncheon, and to have pictures in other locations besides the temple. This would mean that Jabin would have to see me in my dress before the wedding. My mom wasn't as excited about us doing the pictures before because she had the same thought that he shouldn't see the dress before the wedding day. I told her all of the wonderful benefits of doing them earlier and convinced her. Also, we could get the best shot of all: Jabin's reaction to seeing my dress!
Lyndi Benson of
Sugar Rush Photography took and edited all of our formals. She is amazing and I loved working with her!
When we took our formals, we were unable to take any pictures actually on the temple grounds because the temple was closed. We were going to just take some more at the temple the day of the wedding after the ceremony. Since the weather was not cooperating that day, we ended up going back a couple weeks later to take some more formals and to get some more footage for our videographer. The pictures below are from our second round of formals. The wind was blowing so hard which made it freezing! We were pretty much numb by the end of the session...and we were even pretty fast too!
