Best. Weekend. Ever.

Last weekend Jabin flew Andy, Hillary, and myself to Wyoming for a super fun weekend.  We left Friday, after a lot of  worrying that we would have to drive instead of fly if the weather didn't cooperate, and flew into Cody.  The flight was very smooth and way more scenic than the drive.  My parents, Jill, Christian and the boys were waiting at the airport when we landed.  We had planned to go to the Cody Night Rodeo, but we got in a little later than planned and had missed most of it.  We opted for some DQ instead and then headed to Powell.  The main reason we planned this trip was so Jabin could ask my dad for permission and blessing.  That night Jabin cornered my dad before he went to bed and got the big question out of the way.  He wouldn't tell me everything that happened, just that he said yes.  He was smiling an awful lot so I knew it went well (not that I was really worried about that anways).

Saturday we partied on the lake all day.  We got to the lake at about 11 or 11:30 and Jill and Christian brought their boat as well.  We headed out to the Causeway to check out the water and it ended up being amazing water! We played out there for quite a while.  Jason skiied and then Jabin wanted to attempt the slalom ski.  He had never gotten up before but had only tried it a couple times.  He got right up on the first time using Fatty McGee (the ski).  He was a natural! I then skiid and Hillary skiied behind Jill's boat. Dad skiied on Fatty as well. Andy and Hill both wakeboarded and Christian and Jabin kneeboarded.  We were all enjoying the beautiful water and hot weather.  We stopped for lunch before heading towards the dock to see if our friends the Whitlocks were here yet.  On our way we spotted them towing in our other friends' boat that was having some issues.  We decided to  head up the canyon so Andy, Hill and Jabin could see that.  We went all the way to Barry's Landing and stopped for a short break. On our way back we came upon a HUGE river taxi boat that had broken down.  We offered to tow them back in to the dock and everyone but my parents and Jabin and I jumped in Jill and Christian's boat so the boat wouldn't be as heavy.

Got a li'l Cap'n in ya?

Everyone loves fried chicken on the boat :)

First time in Montana

We slowly made our way back to dock and enjoyed the scenery, sunshine, and even took a little nap.  It was so much fun that day.  Boating is seriously my favorite thing to do.  I could go boating everyday.  It is even better when you are surrounded by friends and family.  The four of us headed back to Powell before everyone else because we were planning on going to the Fair that night.  We got home and decided to not hit up the fair but to go eat instead.  We hurried and changed and made it to El Tapatio before they closed.  After dinner is when the "big event" happened.  I already told that story in my last post so I won't retell it.  I will say that it is still my favorite night and memory!! :)

Sunday, we slept in and had yummy breakfast.  We had a big bbq that afternoon with Jill and Christian and my grandparents.  The weather was looking bad and it was looking even worse in Logan, so we decided to leave earlier than we had originally planned.  We left Cody around 3:30.  We had to dodge some storms on the flight, but it was actually very smooth and went by very fast (at least for the passengers, maybe not the pilot).  We landed in Logan just in time because a HUGE storm came through the valley right after.

This weekend was the best weekend ever.  I couldn't imagined it being anymore perfect.  I got to go boating and skiing with my family and friends.  I got engaged to the man I love more than anything and I got to share that exciting time with my family.

BIG, Exciting News!!!!!!!!

I'M ENGAGED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! There is so much to tell, I don't know where to start! This is just the initial announcement post.  I will post more about the entire weekend later on.  I seriously could not be any happier...I think I would explode if I were any happier.  Cheesy? Yes, but so true.  Well...here it goes!

We had been planning on flying to Powell sometime this summer and when Jabin and I started talking about getting married we decided that it would be a perfect time for us to go home so he could ask my dad for permission and blessing.  My roommate Andy and our friend Hillary also wanted to go because they had never gone home with me and wanted to see Wyo.  We left Friday evening after work and landed in Cody around 8:30.  That night, Jabin had his "chat" with my dad and it sounded like it went pretty well.  He wouldn't tell me much about it that night other than he did say yes.  Saturday we went boating all day and got back to Powell around 7:30.  We decided to hurry and head into town to eat dinner at El Tapatio so Andy, Hill and I did not have time to shower and freshen up(yes, I had greasy hair and messed up make up when he proposed).  After dinner I gave them a short tour of the town and Jabin wanted to see the airport.  We dropped the kids (Andy and Hill) off at my house and headed out to the airport.

I wasn't really sure why he wanted to see the Powell airport because it is tiny.  In fact, I had never even been out to the airport before.  So we headed out there, and it is quite a ways out of town so Jabin was probably dying the whole way out there!  He kept saying that he could hear a weird noise coming from the car.  I thought he was crazy and just kept driving.  We stopped at the airport and I let him drive back.  We went a little farther and he pulled over so he could check out what the sound was.  I got out to take a look too.  He fumbled around trying to get the hood popped and told me to try.  I also fumbled around with it, but eventually got it open.  As I turned around, there he was one on knee with the ring box open!!! He took me by complete surprise!!!!

Obviously, I said yes!! I literally had no clue that he was going to propose this weekend.  When we went to get the ring, they had told us that it wouldn't be done for another week so I was thinking it wouldn't be done until this week sometime.  Apparently, he had gone in early and told them he needed it by Friday and to tell me it would take a week...sneaky little bugger! He had told my parents and Hill and Andy so they were all anxiously awaiting our return from the airport.

Ha can you tell I got a little emotional?!?

YAAAAAAAAAAY!!!

It was an absolutely perfect moment that I will never forget.  He is such an amazingly sweet, kind, funny, caring, and wonderful guy.  I could not have asked for a better person to spend forever with.

You'll have to excuse my wrinkly hand and bad pictures.  It is hard to get a good picture of the ring but I LOVE LOVE LOVE it!!!

Sweet Summa Time!

I have kind of fallen behind on blogging, so here is a little catch up.  We went boating again with Tanner and all those guys.  I was another beautiful day on the lake.  I waited til most of the other boats had left so that the water wasn't as choppy to ski on.  And it was worth it.  The water was amazing and I enjoyed every second of it!  Andy and Jabin wakeboarded, along with some of the other guys that were with us.  Tanner tried to get up on my ski, but gave up after a couple of tries.  After the lake, we headed back to our apartment and jumped in the hot tub to warm up from the cold lake water.  I absolutely love having a pool and hot tub at my apartment!

I think that everyone who skiid or wakeboarded that day had a major wipe out.  I rolled across the top of the water while skiing. It then took me way too many times to get back up (I must be getting old!).

we finally got her in the water!

I was not able to go home for 4th of July this year, but it was still a wonderful weekend.  We kicked off the festivities on Friday night with the Logan fireworks.  They have a big show inside the football stadium and this year Diamon Rio performed.  We had saved seats on the hill right across from the stadium so we still had good seats.  Saturday afternoon Jabin and I headed to the Cruise-In.  This is a huge car show that is put on every year in Logan.  We love going and admiring all of the sweet cars.  We walked around for a while until we were nice and sweaty then headed to my pool.  We played in the pool for a couple of hours and got nice and fried! We then got cleaned up and headed to Main Street to watch the Cruise-In parade.  They block off a huge section of main street and all of the cars from the car show drive up and down the street for everyone to admire.  We left that a little early and grabbed some yummy food.  We had planned on going to Transformers, but were a little too pooped so we didn't end up going.

watching the parade :)
Sunday was a typical Sunday.  Went to church, took a nap, and then watched a movie.  Monday we hit up the Hyrum Parade with Jabin's family.  Luckily, it was cloudy that morning and afternoon so the weather was bearable for the parade.  After that we headed to their house for a bbq.  We enjoyed some delicious food and great company.  After lunch, we headed to play in the pool with Jabin's siblings, Lyndi, Corbin, and Donni.  By this time, the sun had come out so the pool felt so good.  We had loads of fun playing in the pool.  That night we headed back to Hyrum to watch Lyndi's band play and then watch the fireworks.

It was such a fun weekend and I was not ready to go back to work on Monday.  I wish I could have been at home with my family so we could have gone to the lake like we always do.  But luckily, I have Jabin and his amazing family here in Logan to still make a fabulous weekend!

AFS Annual Meeting in SLC

Every June my dad has meetings down in Salt Lake for the Associated Food Stores Annual Meeting.  It has kind of turned into a tradition to go down to SLC and play all week.  I normally go with my family an enjoy the week of shopping, swimming, good food, and other great activities, but now that I have a grown-up job I was not able to do all of that.  On Tuesday night my parents, Jill, and the boys came up to Logan to see me though! We all went out to dinner at Cafe Sabor and then just hung out at my place for a little while.  I was so glad that they decided to come up for the evening so I could see them.  It was killing me knowing that they were just over an hour away and I could not see them. Bummer!

On Thursday it was the big fancy dinner that AFS puts on for everyone, so I decided to drive down after work and go to that so I could the fam some more.  Kyle and Jason were there by this time too.  I made it down in time for dinner and the boys and Jill convinced me to just stay the night with them and drive back home for work in the morning.  It was so fun to get to everyone.  Jill said Carson and Travis had been asking all week why I wasn't staying with them and when would I be able to go swimming with them.  Sounds like they missed their Auntie Butts :) They are so cute and I couldn't pass up the chance to stay a little longer with them.

We get to stay in the Grand America Hotel in SLC and the dinner is one of the ballrooms there.  It is tradition to take pictures outside in the gorgeous courtyard.  It was such a beautiful evening that my mom, Jill, and I sat out there for quite a while and let the boys play.  It was fun even though I wish I could have spent more time with the fam in SLC.
